You want to do amateur or power-level computing? Then there is no other choice than Windows! Period. As a Windows user you don't have to spend tons of a money for a Mac PC (sorry Mac guys but Mac is nothing else than an expensive PC now) and you don't have to waste time on forums to learn how install stuff. All that Linux/Mac can offer you can get on Windows and get is better. I spent many years working with Linux but it was always only my second choice. Sorry Linux friends, but I said it.

The ultimate guide to rechargeable batteries
Here is a list of rechargeable batteries you can find on Amazon.es sorted .....drum roll please..... by Euro per Amper.
For day by day use I recommend you batteries of at least 3000mAh. Therefore, batteries show in gray are of low power (below 4000mAh) so I will totally ignore them.
In the end I choose Ansman because it seems to be a German company.
(Here is the link to the table: batteries)
The table contains only C and D size rechargeable batteries.
I provided you also with the link to the Amazon page so you can check each item.

Energizer Universal Charger
Today I got an Energizer Universal Charger. Simply it sucks. I though Energizer is a big/good company. Wrong!
This design of this device is simply shitty. Why? Because I can only charge 2 or 4 batteries at once. If I want to change 3 batteries (and this is what I want to do) I can't.
I have a set of 4 batteries and a toy that uses only 3 batteries. Every time the batteries are depleted and I want to recharge them I have to recharge (or more accurately to OVERCHARGE) and the unused battery.
Also I have notice that in the box there is basically no manual.
If you only want to charge batteries in pairs of 2, this device is ok. If you are in need of flexible/professional battery recharger, go look for something else.

Best chargers ever
Best charger ever
What you will NOT find here:
NiCd batteries are now considered obsolete so we will not review this chemistry.
Chargers that are work at 110V (USA) will also be ignored. Portability is an important factor, as you may want to take your charger with you when you travel with your digital camera.
Weak chargers (under 2100mAh) has been ignored also. This place is not for lamers :)
What you should expect from a charger:
Powerful, portable and most of all, smart! Smart means it that it measures the voltage and temperature of the battery during charging process. This way it knows when to stop the charging, protecting your batteries.

Explanations:
Channels - the charger can load the batteries two by two (not so great) or independently (this way you can load three batteries at once, for example, instead of two or four)
General score - Score given by other people/reviewers. On a scale from 1 to 10.
Advices for storing batteries:
Store between 40 and 80 degrees F. Do not refrigerate.
Batteries will self-discharge if left unused.
NiMh batteries should be stored fully charged and recharged every 30 days to keep in peak capacity.
NiCd batteries should be stored fully discharged.
Do not “store” batteries in the charger.
It is not recommended to “condition” batteries until after they have bee charged and used 10 times.
